AirTran Internet Site Offers 10 Percent
Discounts to Most Destinations

ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 24, 1999--AirTran (Nasdaq:AAIR - news) is offering 10 percent discounts for
travel to most destinations for customers who book their travel online at http://www.airtran.com/. The discounted fares apply for
travel between any destination, systemwide, and one of the following cities: Atlanta, Fort
Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Fort Walton Beach, Gulfport/Biloxi, Jacksonville, Miami, New
Orleans, Orlando, Savannah and Tampa. Travel can originate in either city. These fares
require at least a three-day advance purchase but do not require roundtrip purchase or
Saturday night stay. Fares apply for travel through December 16, 1999, and tickets must be
purchased on the site by August 29, 1999.

discounted one-way fares to different destinations on tickets purchased through Net
Escapes - weekly promotional fares offered exclusively on the airline's web site posted
every Tuesday. Customers may sign up to receive free weekly Net Escapes updates via e-mail
on the E-fares section of AirTran's web site, or the fares can be viewed on the Net
Escapes page.
Offering the convenience of easy, same concourse connections in Atlanta
Hartsfield International Airport, systemwide, AirTran operates over 280 daily departures
to 31 cities. AirTran operates over 135 daily departures from Atlanta, the ``World's
Busiest Airport,'' as designated by Airports Council International.
AirTran provides everyday, affordable air travel throughout the eastern United
States and Midwest. Currently operating a fleet of 49 jet aircraft, AirTran is the launch
customer for the new Boeing 717 with a firm order of 50 aircraft and options for another

Rules and restrictions: Discounted fares are not available between November
24-29, 1999. All fares are one-way. All fares are non-refundable, and a $50 per person fee
applies to any change made after purchase plus any applicable increase in airfare. All
travel must be completed by December 16, 1999. Net Escapes are only available for purchase
on AirTran's web site. Seats are limited, subject to availability and may not be available
