BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Nov. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Disney World ranks high with Southern Living readers. This ever-expanding vacation spot in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., was chosen in the magazine's fifth annual Readers' Choice Awards as one of the top resorts, top family destinations and top theme parks. And Disney Cruise Line claimed one of the top spots for cruises.

By mail and by fax, thousands of Southerners nominated their ``favorites'' in 22 categories -- from their favorite scenic drives to their favorite family destinations.

More than 25,000 entries were received in this year's awards contest. Every person who sent in a ballot was automatically entered in a drawing for a vacation for two to one of the 2000 Readers' Choice Awards destinations. Carol Kaiser of Silver Springs, Md., won the 2000 drawing.
