This site not only categorizes
watersheds based on their overall aquatic health, but
also provides more detailed information on indicators
used to calculate the score. These indicators are
environmental factors that influence the health of the
watershed. For instance: Sources of Drinking Water and
Agricultural Runoff are examples of indicators. This IWI
score is based on the Condition and Vulnerability
Indicators:
Condition
& Vulnerability Indicator Graphs -
Designed to show existing watershed health across the
country & indicate where pollution discharges and
other activities put pressure on the watershed.
Enviromapper
for Watersheds - This link takes you to
Pensacola Bay watershed level. You can view STORET,
fish advisories, and other IWI data as well as
Envirofacts information on a watersh ed level. You can
visit other geographical levels such as state and
county.
Candidate
Indicator Graphs - The Index of Watershed
Indicators in an effort to present more comprehensive
information on the health of your watershed is looking
at new data layers of condition, vulnerability and
resource characteristics (A description of how natural
systems within th e watersheds function and affect
watershed health.) Next year the numbers from these
indicators may be incorporated into the overall score.
