Cory Andrew Wilson was pronounced dead at his grandparents' home in this West Palm Beach suburb, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. His older brother, whose name was not released, admitted to his father and then to police he accidentally fired the shotgun, said Paul Miller, a sheriff's spokesman. "The kid or kids found the gun underneath a bed in the master bedroom, brought the gun in the back bedroom," Miller said. BAY COUNTY COMPANY SELECTED BY HEWLETT-PACKARD

Panama City, Florida--July 16, 1999 - BAY COUNTY COMPANY SELECTED BY HEWLETT-PACKARD (HP) as their representative for the Panhandle.  Applied Emergency Management, Inc. will represent HP Heartstream (part of HP’s Medical Products Group) throughout the Panhandle in marketing their Forerunner Automatic External Defibrillators (AED).  The Forerunner is a state-of-the-art biphasic AED that uses a low energy, impedance-compensating smart analysis, form of shock to treat victims of sudden cardiac arrest.  A study published in the Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology (Dec97) reported that the Forerunner achieved the highest first shock efficacy (89%) ever reported in an out-of hospital setting, compared to peer reviewed literature on higher energy monophasic AEDs (63%).

Applied Emergency Management, Inc. has been in business since 1995 and specializes in comprehensive emergency management planning for residential health care facilities, churches and businesses.  The company also provides emergency health care related training to health care professionals, organizations and individuals.   Courses offered include CPR, first aid, HIV/AIDS, OSHA bloodborne pathogens, and domestic violence.

Larry Clark, President says the addition of the AEDs to their line of products and services will add a new dimension to the business and allow the company to help companies and organizations be better prepared for medical emergencies.  With the simplicity and low cost of new AEDs and the advocacy of organizations like the American Heart Association, AEDs will soon be common place in wherever there are large gatherings of people, or where high risk activities are conducted--malls, golf courses, churches, businesses, industrial plants, sports stadiums, gymnasiums, etc. 850-871-6962
