   I’ve been away from this space for far too long a time. I’ve received requests for my thoughts about the following subjects as indicated by this e-mail from a friend:

The TRUTH about the penny sales tax increase and your feelings about it.

The TRUTH about what in the world is going on with Doug Hutcheson. Are his problems of his own making or are there "elements" in the county who want him out and shut up?

YOUR FEELINGS on the decision of the Commissioners to halt the expansion of the airport due to a sharp decline in tourism, but proceed full-speed-ahead with the conference center.

At present, we have been going through tough times as a nation, it is quite easy to lose focus on local issues of great importance - and this plays right into the hands of those who seem to be working hard to turn all of Okaloosa County into an over-built Destin.
