NBC's Lisa Myers reports from Washington. WASHINGTON,
June 20 — President Bush urged Congress on Wednesday
to pass a patients’ rights bill, but said he will
fight any provisions that might spark a wave of
lawsuits against insurers. “The idea is to serve
more patients, not to create more lawsuits in America,”
he said as senators continued debate over a bill that
would expand patients’ rights to sue health insurers
if they are injured by a decision to deny medical
care..."
