Magazine, COMMENTARY--I suppose now is as good a time
as any to air my complaints about Microsoft's decision to
make its next iteration of the operating system into
nagware. If the company actually goes through with this,
it will be the worst decision made in the personal
computer business since Micropro copy-protected the
Wordstar 2000 word processor about 20 years ago. The
result of that decision was that nobody bought Wordstar
2000, and eventually the company lost credibility, lost
market share, and went bust. In short, the decision was a
jinx...

Legislative Update for Florida...
- As you already know, Florida's state legislators will not consider any bills on state marijuana policy this year. As a result, MPP has coordinated action instead on the bills in Florida's legislature that would restore the right to vote to felons -- including the nonviolent marijuana felons who are permanently disenfranchised in Florida and only nine other states. So far, only 27 Florida residents have sent their legislators an e-mail in support of these bills. It is easy to send a supportive e-mail to your legislators at
