The Freedom Forum Richard Vajs - Okaloosa County Property AppraiserFrom: Dan Scupin - Chair LP of Okaloosa County CommentsFellow Libertarians and friends, I would like to make you aware of a local Libertarian candidate who is running for Okaloosa County Property Appraiser. Richard Vajs, a long time Libertarian and former Congressional candidate, is seeking this seat as a WRITE IN candidate. Pete Smith, the incumbent, is running unopposed, EXCEPT for Richard. You will have a chance to vote for him in the Nov election. Don't forget to "bring your pen"!! Richard will be a guest on radio station WFAV 1400AM from 9-12 this Saturday (Sept 2). Please be sure to tune in and call 244-1400 with your questions. Richard is committed to challenging and reversing the bureaucratic mentality that has given us the "automatic assessment increase" that Okaloosa property owners have experienced over the past several years. He is particularly concerned about the huge Property Appraiser's budget and assures us that he will pare down this budget and provide the necessary services with a "taxpayer friendly" approach. In addition he will lobby for the abolition of the Personal Property tax, something the incumbent has never considered. If he wins, Pete Smith will be serving his third term, 8 years is enough, 12 is obscene. The Appraiser's office needs a change and Libertarian businessman, Richard Vajs can "do the job". Richard cannot do this alone and he needs us all to help with his campaign. He is our ONLY local Libertarian candidate, so please support him.
