The Freedom Forum O'Dell running a smut campaign or what! From: Jazman CommentsIs O'Dell running a smut campaign or what against Doug Hutcheson! Looking at the letters section on Wednesday's DN read like the Spanish Inquisition. Assuming that she is responsible for those letters, I hope she can sleep well at night. I don't believe citizens would be so loyal to O'Dell as to just up and do all this dirt-digging research, and time their letters so well before the run-offs to the DN. She lost any hope for my vote based on that "low-ball" tactic alone. I also noticed that Gilson is running pro-O'Dell propaganda on his trash slinging site. I didn't see him listed in her CAMPAIGN EXPENDITURE REPORTS. I guess that'll show up later after the run-offs, along with a new conference center. Reminds me of what happened to Gaetz and Morgan on the "bad check" fiasco. The difference is, one, Doug doesn't have much time to counter her trash slinging and, two, Gaetz probably staged his so called character attack. He is earning his reputation as the "most dangerous man in the county" as I am told. Ambitious people like that are scary. Lord help us if he makes it to the House or Senate. And the "ever so objective" Daily News has no problem with holding back the "political" letters just days before the run-offs. I seem to recall that during the primaries, they had a "self-imposed" limit on "political" letters to the editor almost a week before the polling day. Heck, five folks told me they were refused to be allowed to submit their supportive letters of Gaylan King to the DN because of this so called "limit." Oh what a tangled web we weave. I heard Jackie Burkett on the radio the other morning. He did his usual "dance" around the question number rarely giving a straight answer to straight questions, unless it had to do with football, of course. All he can do is talk about his glory days with his football career, and how full of integrity he is as a member of the PBSJ Board. NOooo... money don't influence that man. Why just take a look at his CAMPAIGN FINANCIAL REPORTS and they read as a "Who's Who's" of wealthy or influential folks in this county - all of them hell-bent on trying to bend the will of the BCC (many of them have already), right along with highway 98. They are backing him for some reason... Jackie, you mean to tell me that it's because they think you are a great football hero, or because you know how to be a "team player?" The only thing close to a "plan" that he did have beside the usual "SAVE THE WATER" hee-haw was the Yellow River Dam Project, and that was some idea put together by two guys up on the north-end of the county. You would think that a company as "big" and "noble" as PBSJ would have conjured up the idea themselves. I mean, after all, they do have the great Jackie Burkett as the Vice something or another on their board. What-up Jackie? Storm water run-off ditches seem the only thing you can think of as an answer to any question about REAL problems in Okaloosa county with growth, infrastructure or the conference center. Readdy may not be "pure as the driven snow" like O'Dell makes herself out to be (why given with her smut campaign against Doug and all I tend to wonder about her), but I'm backing him because he's smart enough to see Gaylan had some good ideas and parroted his every word during his entire campaign. We'll see what he has to say this morning on the radio station 1260 AM... Gilson puts a new spin on the phrase "dirty politics" by managing some of the sleaziest campaigns I've seen in this county, but I know it ain't ALL his doing that's why they call it the "GILSON GROUP." We'll see if O'Dell didn't hire that "group" to beat out Doug and get her conference center. Crooked is what crooked does... Ain't politics fun... Jazman ______ Last changed: March 04, 2008
