Our Tax Dollars Have Been at Work

In a recent editorial, the Daily News hinted at the possibility that taxpayers would be liable for any penalties from the cancellation of work on the Conference Center. A Conference center supporter also hinted this recently and Gaylan King spoke of it on radio. It appears there is a basis for these statements.

While petitions were being gathered, incumbents being voted out of office for supporting the Conference Center, and at least two newly elected commissioners promising to stop work; it appears that your county representatives have been spending your tax money to change the law such that bed tax funds can not be used to pay off any costs incurred if the tax is repealed.
