The Freedom Forum anarchy in florida and the usaFrom: Leslie Upham CommentsTo whom it may concern, I am just your average everyday Florida resident. On November 7, I went to the place down the street, waited in line for a few minutes, and was given a ballot to use to vote. I sat down at the booth, read the directions, asked a worker there to clarify something in the directions and then proceeded to carefully choose which hole to punch. I made sure to look at the name, the number and the arrow. When I finished choosing, I took the ballot out of the deal, looked at it to be sure the correct number was punched out in each section. Mind you, I was in no hurry, I only get a chance to vote for president once every four years; none the less, the whole process (including the wait in line) took no more than fifteen minutes. I was careful. Evidently other people were not so careful, I should not be punished for the careless mistakes of other voters. Also I heard that some 19,000 votes being complained about to the entire nation were ballots where the voters realized they had made mistakes, asked for replacement ballots, and eventually cast their votes. Why are the election officials digging through the trash anyway? Are they crazy? I also know about the telemarketing company calling all those 5,000 registered democrats in a 45 minute time-frame on election day, prompting them to call the state officials and media complaining that they were confused by the ballots. I should not be punished for their lies. Why is it that the media is not reporting that over and over again as they are so many of the other details? Perhaps you have been on the way to work or somewhere and thought you may have left the coffee pot or iron on, and turned around to be sure and found it was turned off after all. Turning off the iron or coffee pot is almost automatic since you may do it daily. Voting is not so! I do not believe those people were confused at all, not for one minute! I do believe that some people may have been convinced by expert telemarketers to be uncertain about what they really did, many people are quick to doubt themselves. If some of the people did not vote the way they meant to, well that's too bad! They will just have to be more careful next time. All of the votes in Florida have been counted, re-counted, re-re-counted, re-re-re-counted, certified and verified. And now you're having some group of liberal judges decide for the whole country who will sit on the throne in D.C.! Who knows how many ballots have been tampered with? I'll bet it would be easy to punch out those dots with your fingernail as you go. I do not believe in stealing, and the loser is attempting to steal the election. I have seen some pretty sore losers, but never this sore! After the second re-count, the deal should have been done! I do not trust those people counting the ballots by hand. This whole situation seems like *anarchy to me. I thought we were supposed to uphold the American Constitution. I thought that it was written to keep things basically fair in this so called free country. Where in the Constitution does it say that a group of judges at the state level could decide the fate of our nation? *an·ar·chy (nr-k) n., pl. an·ar·chies. Absence of any form of political authority. Political disorder and confusion. Absence of any cohesive principle, such as a common standard or purpose. ______ Last changed: March 04, 2008
