"Kuwait
Series" - by Gaylan King

I often say that I'm too stupid to be afraid and that was probably the case this morning. I was more angry than afraid. We're making significant progress in Iraq and the Bad Guys (this includes CNN!) are desperately trying to give the impression that we are failing. It ain't so! Any group can get off a round or two in a city this size. You'd have to have been coming here to appreciate the differences in this very large city over the last few months. Some knowledge of Middle-Eastern politics would also help you to understand how desperate Iran and Saudi Arabia, and others, are to avoid a free neighbor who is both more rich and smarter than they are. The losses are still too large, 10 this morning at the Red Cross; a Colonel yesterday at th4 Al-Rashid. But, the Red Cross, like the UN, were terribly careless about security matters and, in their rush to separate themselves from the Coalition, brought greater danger to their employees.
Don't buy into this lie. CNN was crowing about how
we'd failed here, again. Any success in Iraq will make
George Bush look good; that's the source of their
hatred and incessant lying. People at my hotel give
the press wide berth and with good reason.
